In my spiritual journey I realized that the Desert Fathers who lived in Egypt in the third and fourth centuries have discovered a path towards the goal of achieving unity with God. The great St. Anthony spent decades living in isolation in a cave in the desert in Egypt and was one of the first monastics. The life and wisdom of these early Christians are an amazing testimony to those who are trying to  be be real followers of Jesus: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow”.

I   believe God is looking for a new generation of Desert Fathers in our own time. The starting point for St. Anthony was when he heard a sermon on the rich young ruler and decided to  sell all he had, give it to the poor, and follow Christ.
